About the Budding Yogis Certification
The 20-hour Budding Yogis Certification is based on our unique philosophy of teaching yoga and mindfulness to kids in a way that stretches their imaginations, offers them non-competitive opportunities to play, and teaches them how to relax. What makes Budding Yogis special is our emphasis on mindfulness and the ways in which it can be incorporated into children’s yoga and their everyday lives.
For more than 12 years, Linda Feldman has been training hundreds of teachers through our 20-hour Budding Yogis Certification. Participants learn how to teach yoga classes for kids ages 2-12 with age-appropriate yoga poses and activities, how to create theme-based yoga classes, and how to use self-calming, meditation, and mindfulness techniques to help kids relax their bodies and minds. At the end of the 20 hours, trainees will have the opportunity to practice teach a group of children and be prepared to start their teaching journey.

- A child psychologist or therapist interested in learning new techniques to reduce anxiety in your clients

What You Will Learn
Mindfulness Practice – Learn what mindfulness is, and how we can use the practices to create more calm and ease in our own lives, and simple ways to offer it to kids.
Yoga and Mindfulness Games – Learn dozens of non-competitive yoga and mindfulness games to use in kid’s yoga classes.
Yoga Asana – Learn many yoga asana (postures) to use with kids, and how to create new postures to create a themed yoga class.
Breathing Techniques – Learn various breath work techniques to teach children, including ways to use the breath to calm and center ourselves.
The Business of Teaching Kids – Learn how to start or re-energize your career in Kid’s Yoga.
Classroom Behavior – Learn how to identify special needs issues in class, and basic skills for managing classrooms.
Practice Teach – Each Budding Yogis Certification student will have a chance to plan and co-teach a real kids yoga class at the studio on the last day of training.
A Budding Yogis certificate will be given to each participant if all sessions and the practice teaching session are successfully attended.

95-hour RCYT Certification
Interested in pursuing Yoga Alliance’s 95-hour Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) certification? Through the Children’s Yoga Teacher Training Collaborative, you can now combine your 20-hour Budding Yogis Certification with other children’s yoga teacher trainings to meet the 95-hour Yoga Alliance RCYT requirement.
