Mission Statement
To provide people experiencing a range of physical and emotional challenges with a powerful set of therapeutic tools, based on traditional yoga practices, to enable them to manage symptoms, enhance well-being and improve the quality of their lives
Program History
Both Annie and Karen recognize how much their own practice of yoga has helped each of them reach a place of increased health and balance within their own lives. It is from this personal experience that the Circle Yoga Therapeutic Yoga Program was born, in an effort to bring the benefits of yoga to people experiencing a wide range of physical, emotional and developmental challenges.
An increasing body of scientific research supports what yogis have known for several thousand years, namely that the 8 limbs of yoga, including asana, pranayama, and meditation have the power to improve the quality of life for people living with many kinds of issues, including anxiety, stress, depression and addiction.
The Circle Yoga Therapeutic Yoga Program is intended to bring the benefits of yoga to people with specific physical, emotional and developmental issues, by working in partner ship with local therapists. We can work in consultation with the client’s health care practitioner including medical doctors, chiropractors, psychotherapists, massage therapists and acupuncturists, to create a structured program of yoga poses (asanas) breathing, and meditation. When used in conjunction with other forms of therapy these time-honored practices have the potential to increase the effectiveness of other therapeutic interventions, and further improve the quality of our client’s lives.
