What is Reiki? A Free Introduction

Come learn about Reiki, a spiritual healing practice in which light touch is used to promote balance in the system and engage a person's natural ability to heal. Reiki is gentle and non-invasive. In this workshop with Marion Werner, we will talk about the origin of Reiki, what a Reiki session is like, and how Reiki can help you. Because it encourages balance in the system, Reiki treatment may help you ease anxiety, relieve pain, release stress, improve sleep, manage the side effects of medication and/or chemotherapy, and encourage deep relaxation. Over time, Reiki practice may open an inner spiritual connection and a deep sense of wellness. Everyone who comes to the workshop will receive a brief sample of Reiki, as the best way to understand Reiki is through experience.

This 20-hour workshop is intended for school teachers, parents, yoga teachers, therapists, or anyone interested in learning how to enrich children's lives with yoga practice. Participants will learn how to teach kids yoga classes, how to create theme-based yoga classes, and how to teach self-calming and meditation techniques. Lighten Up! 108 Sun Salutations for the Winter Solstice

Join Doerthe, Eduardo G, Sumana, and other Circle Yoga teachers as we celebrate the winter solstice and support the good work of the Give Back Yoga Foundation with 108 sun salutations. It is traditional to perform 108 sun salutations with the change of each season, and is most often done in large groups, and often as an "offering", such as an offering of peace or unity. We'll start slowly, pick up the pace, gain momentum and slow down with some cooling postures. While we do recommend that participants have some yoga experience, students are free to move at their own pace and do only as many sun salutations as feels right for their bodies. 100% of the proceeds from the workshop will benefit the Give Back Yoga Foundation, which supports yoga teachers offering yoga to prisoners and veterans, and in other underserved communities.
