Healing Yoga for Your Body Type: Yoga & Ayurveda

Are you looking to personalize your yoga program and gain maximum benefit in integrating body mind and soul? The knowledge of Ayurveda (the oldest healing tradition in the world) is a crucial key to this. According to Ayurveda, biological existence is a dance of the three doshas, or mind-body types: vata (air-space), pitta (fire-water) and kapha (earth-water). While the three doshas are present in all of us, one of the three predominates in each individual and becomes the basic force of her/his particular constitution and mind/body type. When your dosha is balanced you experience happiness and ease. With the knowledge of Ayurveda, we can use our yoga practice to not only ensure health, but to actualize our full potential as human beings. Learn what it means for your dosha to be in and out of balance and how to guide yourself in a practice of select asanas, pranayama and meditation to bring forth and maintain balanced energy and positive radiance.

Teaching Yoga to Kids: Budding Yogis Teacher Training Certification

Do you think you might enjoy teaching yoga to children? Or do you think your child might benefit from learning to relax through the non-competitive practice of yoga? This 20-hour workshop is intended for school teachers, parents, yoga teachers, therapists, or anyone interested in learning how to enrich children's lives with yoga practice. Participants will learn how to teach kids yoga classes, how to create theme-based yoga classes, and how to teach self-calming and meditation techniques. Each student will have an opportunity to plan, observe, and teach a free kids yoga class on the last day of the workshop. Explorations in the Balance of Opposites with Anusara Yoga

One of the meanings of "yoga" is to yoke or unite our polarities so they do not fight and contradict each other. Our practice shows us how these polarities are, instead, complementary opposites that serve to make us more whole and balanced in our lives. In this workshop with Suzie Hurley, we will look at polarities in a variety of poses, including inversions and backbends, and use them to align the physical, emotional, and mental body in a precise and life affirming way. Anusara Yoga helps us to see the joy in both our unity and diversity. The workshop will include an explanation of the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment and the Tantric philosophy on which it's based.
