If you have trouble falling or staying asleep, you are not alone: insufficient sleep is a public health concern. When we are overtired, we make mistakes and crash—sometimes taking others with us. Those of us with chronic sleep problems tend to be less productive, have an overall lower quality of life, and are also more likely to suffer from other diseases—hypertension, diabetes, depression, obesity, and cancer. In a 2012 survey conducted by the National Institutes of Health, 55% of people who did yoga found that it helped them get better sleep. In this workshop, you will learn a bit about the yogic approach to sleep and how you can plan your day to get better shut-eye. And you will enjoy a soothing practice so you can go home and rest!
