Bretton Keating

Bretton grew up with a love of movement, particularly through dance. She began practicing yoga in middle school, and completed her 200-hour teacher-training course at Down Dog Yoga in 2012, at which point she assisted classes for a year prior to teaching Vinyasa-style yoga in 2013. In 2014, Bretton began teaching yoga full time and returned to her dance roots, completing her barre teacher training at Spark Yoga. She also began teaching yoga and dance to children, taking her first kids yoga teacher training at Circle Yoga with Linda Feldman. In her yoga and barre classes, Bretton uses creative sequencing, individualized attention, and an intuitive approach to encourage students to listen to their bodies, grow stronger, and enhance their potential to move with greater freedom and ease. She practices Mysore-style Ashtanga with Michael Joel Hall at DC Ashtanga, and dances ballet, modern, and jazz as often as possible. In addition to adult yoga and barre studio classes, she teaches kids yoga full time, working largely with special needs children and teens at schools throughout the DC metropolitan area.

In addition to 200-hour E-RYT and YACEP, Bretton is certified to teach Kids Yoga and Kids Zumba. She is also a Reiki healer (Usui method, Levels I/II). When not on her mat, Bretton loves to paint, cook, and hike with her dog, an Indian rescue.
