Marsha Banks-Harold

Marsha D. Banks-Harold, BSEE, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, RYCT, RPYT, is the owner and manager of two PIES Fitness Yoga Studios in Alexandria, VA. She also serves as the Director of PIES Fitness Yoga School where she certifies yoga teachers in addition to serving as a Certified Yoga Therapist specializing in yoga therapy for beginners, seniors and clients with special needs and therapeutic conditions. She created her flagship class My Body Don’t Bend That Way in response to a need for accessible yoga for everyone. Her passion is working with special needs yoga therapy clients to balance their lives while reducing stress and anxiety.

In addition, Marsha received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and works as an Electrical Engineer in the intellectual property field. She practices yoga daily to balance her life as she navigates amongst her roles as a wife, a mother of 2 biological sons and 2 sons that she has served as the legal guardian to for the last 10 years, an officer in her church, a full time engineer and a studio owner. Marsha encourages everyone to honor where they are as they strive to live a balanced life. She believes yoga is the path that allows one to know thyself physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. For more information please see
