Rob Phillips

Recently transplanted from Boston to D.C., Rob Phillips teaches yoga with an emphasis on simplicity, precision, and attention to the present moment. In his classes, even when you're working really hard, you'll be doing so from a place of calm awareness. His flow classes draw inspiration from classic styles like Ashtanga and Iyengar, but he also specializes in the much slower practice of Yin Yoga, which uses long-held poses to access deeper tissues, and provides an ideal place to learn mindfulness.

Rob has had the privilege of studying with some of the truly gifted teachers, including a 200-hour training with Natasha Rizopoulos, ongoing training in Yin Yoga with Joshua Summers, and several years of Mysore-style Ashtanga with Kate O’Donnell. In addition, he’s studied meditation with teachers including Abre Chen and Beth Resnick-Folk, as well as many long retreats with some of the nations top teachers at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA.
