Foam Roller Workshop
Fri Nov 9
Foam rolling is a form of self-myofascial release, which is a scientific, evidence-based technique used to release the tight muscles and connective tissues which contribute to musculoskeletal pain and limited range of motion. Self-myofascial release is a safe, gentle and effective practice that can be used to improve overall health and performance by increasing flexibility, reducing pain, and improving circulation. It also helps decrease post-exercise soreness and can help prevent injuries. In this interactive workshop, students will learn how to use a foam roller and tennis balls to apply this mobilization technique to different muscle groups all over the body. Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for a movement class. All students should be able to get up and down to the floor without assistance. Foam rolling is not appropriate for students with osteoporosis.
All students must bring their own full round, 31" or 36" long foam roller, which can be purchased at Circle Yoga, a sporting goods store, or online.
