The Mother of all Asanas
Sun Jul 29
When we stand on our shoulders, not only do we tone our arms and legs, but we begin to rejuvenate our entire system - the abdominal organs, the thyroid gland, the circulatory system, and more. Shoulderstand, or Sarvangasana, cultivates a quietness of the mind, a firmness in the body, and tremendous vitality. Ultimately, this asana strives for harmony and happiness within the entire human system.
It is no over-statement to say that if a person regularly practices Sarvangasana, he will feel new vigor and strength, and will be happy and confident. New life will flow into him, his mind will be at peace, and he will feel the joy of life. - B.K.S. Iyengar
In this workshop we will till the soil within our bodies in preparation for learning shoulderstand. We will learn how to come into this inversion properly as well as explore alternative modifications that can be performed when necessary, so that all can embrace the gifts of this pose. Appropriate for students who are comfortable in Yoga Level 1-2 and above. As we will be going upside down, please eat a light lunch.
