Mindfulness groups meet to practice sitting and walking meditation and discuss mindfulness-related topics every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Circle Yoga. We practice together in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
Monday 7-8:30pm. Sessions begin with sitting meditation and walking meditation (7-7:45 pm). Then a facilitator leads a Dharma Discussion (7:45-8:30 pm), including a reading or a short CD/DVD excerpt from a talk followed by group discussion. After the final bell at 8:30, there is time for conversation and connecting with fellow practitioners.
Wednesday 6:30-7:30am and Friday 1-2pm. (Friday sessions will return to usual 12pm start time in the fall, on Friday, September 5.) Sessions begin with sitting meditation and walking meditation. Then we enjoy a very short reading and group discussion. After the final bell on Wednesdays we often go out for coffee, tea or bagels together.
Newcomers are welcome anytime, and we offer an introduction for Newcomers on the first Monday of each month starting at 6:15pm.
No previous mindfulness or meditation experience necessary, no registration is required, and there is no fee to attend. Donations are joyfully accepted to support this and other similar programs Sitting meditation can be done on the floor or in a chair.
