Are you interested in sharing the benefits of yoga and mindfulness with kids? Or do you think your child might benefit from learning to relax through the non-competitive practice of yoga? The 20-hour Circle Yoga Kids Teacher Training (CYKTT) is designed for school teachers, parents, yoga teachers, therapists, or anyone interested in learning how to enrich children's lives with yoga and mindfulness practices. This is a hybrid training, which means that trainees can participate in person or virtually.

About the training

As one of the first children's yoga programs in the country, the Circle Yoga Kids Teacher Training (formerly Budding Yogis Teacher Training) has certified hundreds of kids yoga teachers over the last 18 years. Our trainees include teachers, librarians, therapists, day care workers, yoga teachers, and parents who are sharing yoga and mindfulness in their professional and home settings. Lead Trainer Linda Feldman has been training teachers through the Circle Yoga Kids Teacher Training since the program's beginning.

The Circle Yoga Kids Teacher Training is based on our unique philosophy of teaching yoga and mindfulness to kids in a way that stretches their imaginations, offers them non-competitive opportunities to play, and teaches them how to relax. What makes Circle Yoga's training special is our emphasis on mindfulness and the ways in which it can be incorporated into children's yoga and their everyday lives.

Over the course of the 20-hour training weekend, participants learn how to teach yoga classes for kids ages 2-12 with age-appropriate yoga poses and activities, how to create theme-based yoga classes, and how to use self-calming, meditation, and mindfulness techniques to help kids relax their bodies and minds.

At the end of the training, trainees will have the opportunity to practice teach and will be prepared to start their teaching journey. Each trainee will receive a Circle Yoga Kids Teacher Training certificate if all sessions are attended, in person or on Zoom, and the practice teaching is completed.
